Job Description
In this role you are requested to manage Zakat and taxes filing with General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) as per the regulatory reporting requirements, following consultation with Bupa Group and external tax advisors to ensure the implementation of insurance recording systems and processes to safe guard the company’s assets and people.
Key Accountabilities:
Zakat & Tax Management
- Submit GAZT reports according to regulations and alignment the external advisors.
- Review GAZT response to queries for assessment and inspection requirements.
- Analyse GAZT assessment and completion of appeals documentation in coordination with zakat/tax advisors.
- Review and approve Zakat, Tax and Deferred tax calculations and disclose in the Financial Statement.
- Provide AOP and Forecast numbers of Zakat and Tax charges continuously.
- Maintain a record of double taxation treaty agreements and ensure recovery of Tax from DZIT/Suppliers.
- Advise management on inquiries related to Zakat and Tax.
Capital Expenditure (Capex) and Fixed Asset management
- Develop and implement Capital expenditure and fixed assets policies, procedures, and projects in-process.
- Maintain fixed assets registers with appropriate classification and accounting for Company's assets and ensure reconciliation of monthly journals for depreciation and fixed asset additions with GLs.
- Coordinate and respond to the queries of external auditors for accounting and valuation of Company’s fixed assets and their depreciation.
- Manage the physical inspection of fixed assets in coordination with relevant departments to identify accounting for retention and/or disposal of Company's assets.
- Conduct reviews on company projects with the budget team to ensure they are capitalized in the fixed assets register.
Reporting
- Quality checks the financial statement during reporting period.
- Assist in implementing the proper control and procedure in Finance Operation function.
Skills
- IFRS / SOCPA knowledge
- Zakat, Tax, VAT, WHT and Transfer pricing knowledge
- Competent in both Arabic and English languages written and spoken
- CA / CPA / CMA preferred
