Senior Manager – Business Applications

Job Description

The Senior Manager – Business Applications will lead and manage the Business Applications development team in order to deliver high quality and performance, innovative, fit for purpose systems to meet the business requirements in line with the business strategy.

 

Applications Management

  • Execute application changes to improve the reliability, scalability, extensibility, security and performance of Business Applications based on the approved change requests.
  • Evaluate and recommend ultimate use of application functionalities
  • Configure Business Applications as per the best practices.
  • Research, compare, analyze and recommend best vertical solutions, ISV solutions, components fit for business requirements.
  • Execute application configurations, upgrades, roll ups and customizations in supported way to not impact upgrades.
  • Create and update Business Application related documents like Configuration Document, Release Notes, Change Scripts, Application Architectures, User Guides, etc.
  • Assist with the detailed design and development of applications
  • Review and approve system design by the development team to ensure it captures the requirement of the business.
  • Ensure written codes meet the requirements of existing code standards and conventions
  • Monitor development & modification of existing applications

 

Solutions Design

  • Define innovative solutions to fulfil business requirements
  • Monitor and recommend changes to improve the reliability, scalability, extensibility, security and performance of developed systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend development tools for use within the systems development environments to achieve the most efficient mix of system design and software
  • Propose the development of innovative solutions to keep ahead of the competitors
  • Ensure that Bupa is ahead of competition in terms of value added services through the use of technology
  • Define and assure secure coding standards, including recommendations to mitigate OWASP Top 10 Most Critical Web Application Security Risks.
  • Establish all integrations through middleware platform.

 

Application Support Management

  • Manage level #3 application support requests in Service Desk
  • Streamline end user requests to CRs/PIDs
  • Coordinate with internal departments and end users to ensure that users are trained properly on the system functions.
  • Prepare CRM training materials and keep it up to date and enhance training materials with modern technologies and methods. Also make sure that training materials are published on secure channels and accessible to end users.
  • Manage CRM knowledge base and ensure updates whenever there is change and accessible to end users and departments.

 

Project Management

  • Plan, organize, document and execute plans by meeting operational and business standards and adhering to international best practices
  • Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes for the IT programs and projects
  • Suggest and recommend innovations, enhancements, corrective actions for IT projects.
  • Ensure the delivery of requirements to complete projects successfully and meet project deliverables, business expectations, customers experience, and quality of service
  • Ensure that IT programs and project risks are identified, analyzed, mitigated and escalated, and handled as appropriate for the business requirements
  • Develop and maintain methodologies, approaches, standard templates, documentation, status updated, and data to support programs.
  • Lead program and project update meetings and reviews with management, department heads, leads, and team members

 

People Management

  • Engage employees in identifying appropriate actions and gaining their commitment to assisting in delivery
  • Identify the project functional/technical resources and build the API & Middleware team.
  • Prepare communication plans showing all application team members, roles and escalation procedures
  • Monitor and follow up on assigned tasks to ensure timely delivery
  • Ensure timely escalation in case the required quality is not followed to avoid impact on any application related deliveries.

Skills

Years of Experience

 

  • 5-10 years’ experience in Systems development with 3 years in the role of development manager

 

Skills Required (Technical/Managerial)

 

  • AJAX, JQuery, JavaScript, .Net Core, MVC, C#, Web API, Design Patterns, etc. 
  • MEAN Stack products [Mongo, Express, Angular, Node]
  • Integration using REST APIs, Web Services, CRM SDK
  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM [On-Premises] Development - Configuration, Plug-in, Workflows, etc
  • SharePoint administration, configuration and development
  • SQL Server including Stored Procedures, SSRS and SSIS
  • SDLC Documentation like BRD, TDD, Architecture
  • Experience in full lifecycle development & technical architecture
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

 

Other Requirements

 

  • University degree in Computer Science of Computer Engineering or any other closely related field
  • Technical certifications from various Microsoft technologies e.g. MCPD, MCSD, MCTS, etc.
  • Technical certifications from various Business Applications e.g. CRM, PMI, etc.
  • Track record in designing and delivering system solutions in medium to large size companies
