Job Description
Role Purpose:
To manage the end to end support, operations, availability, and continuous improvement of the Hospital Information System (HIS). This role ensures system stability, timely issue resolution, user satisfaction, regulatory readiness, and operational efficiency across all clinical and administrative HIS modules.
Key Accountabilities:
1- Application Architecture;
Participate in the design, review, and enhancement of a secure, scalable, and interoperable HIS application architecture that supports clinical, administrative, and mobile use cases.
2- Solutions Design;
Deliver secure, reliable, high-performing HIS solutions that exceed stakeholder expectations and differentiate through innovation.
3- Manage Development Activities;
Lead and govern the full SDLC for HIS initiatives to deliver quality, secure, maintainable applications.
4- Integration & Interoperability;
Ensure seamless, secure data exchange across HIS modules and external systems (labs, radiology, pharmacy, payers).
Skills
- Provide first-level and second-level support for HIS modules (Registration, ADT, Billing, Orders, Pharmacy, LIS).
- Perform basic troubleshooting of application issues, user access, and workflow problems.
- Assist in system configuration, master data entry, and user role management under supervision.
- Follow up with senior team members, vendors, or L3 teams for unresolved issues.
- Participate in testing and validation for patches, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Support system integrations (LIS, RIS, PACS, ERP, NPHIES) by monitoring interface logs and reporting issues.
- Document issues, resolutions, SOP steps, and maintain internal knowledge articles.
- Ability to learn new tools, HIS modules, and hospital workflows quickly.
- Strong understanding of IT fundamentals, including Windows OS and basic networking.
- Basic understanding of databases (SQL preferred).
- Awareness of HL7 or healthcare data standards (training will be provided).
- Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, or iService (preferred, not mandatory).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (Arabic/English).
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
- Team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to follow structured workflows and guidelines.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize assigned tasks with guidance.
- Experience in support applications and systems in a healthcare environment
- Experience working with EMR/HIS vendor
Education
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, Health Informatics, or related field
