Senior Manager-Data Center Architect

The Senior Manager – Data Center Architect is responsible for assessment, design, management, maintenance & architecture of the Data Center according to present and future requirements for the infrastructure platform. The role will assure optimum architecture, design, performance, security and integrity in coordination with IT, enhancement and business teams and develop strategies to ensure achievement of Data Center capacity.

Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Prepare plans for installation of Data Center according to present requirements.
• Manage and perform research to design new & advanced Data Center.
• Coordinate with IT, enhancement and business teams and develop strategies to ensure achievement of Data Center capacity.
• Maintain expert knowledge on all business procedures associate with assets and capacity.
• Monitor all functional resources required for growth and ensure appropriate working.

Reporting, Compliance, Security & Analysis

• Prepare plans for development of Data Center according to present and future requirements.
• Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it.
• Monitor all activities related to analysis and implement all Data Center plans.
• Deliver required reports to management, operations, Audit
• Performing information security risk assessments on Data Center technologies & facilities and serving as the internal auditor for information security processes.

Team Building & Management

• Implement team goals or objectives.
• Supervise, train or guide team members.
• Mediate any interpersonal issues.
• Utilize technology effectively.
• Be knowledgeable about each team members job role. Inspire and motivate team members
• Coordinate with various departments and perform integration of critical systems into infrastructure.

Project Management

• Planning Project Resources.
• Assembling and Leading Project Team.
• Monitor all Data Center Project functions and ensure appropriate progress.

Disaster Recovery Center Administration

• Produce all related documentation on Disaster Recovery as needed.
• Perform periodic audits of existing Disaster Recovery Plans and report to management on any improvements that need to be made.
• Perform all departmental administrative activities, including staff meeting attendance, monthly status reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, expense processing, documentation, and other activities, as assigned, in a timely fashion.
• Assume leadership role in developing, coordinating, and maintaining comprehensive Data Center recovery plans and a testing program, to ensure the ability to recovery, in the event of any unforeseen disruption to facilities, technology systems, or applications
• Provide direct communications between the BCP Project Office, Information technology Operations, Facilitate timely identification, escalation, resolution, and follow-up for all outstanding issues.
• Lead in performing Data Center and communications network recovery capacity planning coordination with company technology groups in support of specific business unit current, in plan, and new initiatives, as well as, accurate, predictive budgeting.

Storage & Backup Administration

• Take initiative on issues and probe deeper into problems to fix root causes & proactively prevent recurrence.
• Advise on best practices to ensure that customer's storage/backup solutions are able to work in a reliable, efficient and supportable way.
• Communicate in a clear and concise manner both in written form of emails, ticket comments, and verbally; as well as internally and on the phone with customers.
• Resolve escalated customer issues and manage escalations further to external support.
• Basic troubleshooting of storage (designing, creating & resizing) / backup and restore failures on multiple platforms with varied configurations. Perform data restorations for servers, file systems, and databases upon customer request in a calm and controlled fashion while maintaining consistent communication with the customer.
• Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of backup applications on client servers.
• Proactively look to improve and add efficiency to current processes and exercise judgment in the decision-making process in order to provide consistent fanatical customer service.

• 8+ years hands-on experience

Technical/Managerial

• Cisco Data Center Technologies Expert CCIE-DC
• VMware DC Expert VCE
• Cross knowledge with NetAPP
• ITIL, ISO 20001 background is must
