Manager – Data Center

To monitor & report “live” issues and potential issues in a real time manner and on a 24/7 basis by putting in place processes & systems that would prevent such issues from occurring thereby providing complete protection of BUPA Arabia data & secure up time of the data center under all conditions.

Data Center Management

• Plan, prioritize and manage activities in Data Center to ensure the delivery of the required contributions in terms of providing Bupa with an innovative and effective Infrastructure that supports and enhances the business processes.
• Manage and lead the Data Center team and ensure resources availability to provide on time and efficient support services of all production activities, and maintaining the operational status of the Data Center that supports and enhances the business processes and the availability of online services.
• Ensure the proper implementation, administration, and support of Data Center projects to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
• Provide 24 x 7 on-site and remote support and services for all Bupa Data Centers spread geographically across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
• Liaison with internal Bupa teams, vendors, and suppliers to determine technology and business requirements, execute projects, and set service standards.
• Manage and lead the Data Center team and ensure availability to provide on time and efficient support services of all production activities, and maintaining the operational status of the Data Center that supports and enhances the business processes and the availability of online services.
• Develop and manage the production of IT operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure proper utilization in measuring and improving the IT service delivery.
• Responsibility of managing the operations and support for Technology data centers to ensure proper hosting environment for all development and production Systems
• Determine and put proper controls with regards to the existing systems in the Data Centers and ensure on-time escalation of all production problems to the respective teams
• Applies and enforces Data Center security access procedures to the safety, operation, and confidentiality and integrity of Data Center systems and data
• Develop and implement operational standards and procedures and ensure full adherence from all stakeholders at all times
• Execute and monitor the progress of backup jobs according to planned schedules and validate the taken backups by random periodic restores and in close coordination with the respective teams
• Backup media handling being on-site or off-site and execute any restore operations needed
• Provide Data Centers site ownership and management, optimization and re-location
• Provide Data Centers standards and procedures development and implementation
• Manage and maintain Data Center inventory management
• Accept new Data Centers handover, handle equipment movement and allocation management
• Data Centers provisioning and Ready for Service process implementation and controls
• Responsible for Data Center disaster recovery planning efforts, assuring end-state production recovery environments, meeting all strategic planning deliverable, coordinating activities of technology resources
• Perform Data Center recovery capacity planning with focus on proactively assuring recovery and act as a point of contact with the Business Continuity and other functions
• Participate in appropriate disaster recovery and business continuity development planning meetings, activities, and plans finalization
• Responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining comprehensive Data Center recovery plans, audit and testing framework to ensure the ability to recovery, in the event of an unforeseen disruption to services, facilities, systems and or applications
• Responsible for end to end Data Center planning, budgeting, documentation, monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvements
• Data Centers CCTV, Access Control, deployment, management and operations for all Bupa Data Centers
• Data Centers risk analysis and register management, internal and external audits, assessment and support
• Perform periodic audits of existing disaster recovery plans and report to management on findings, improvements and action to be made
• Perform other duties as required

• Manage and motivate the Data Center team and act as a role model for others to follow

• Conduct periodic performance reviews, continuously coach and develop Data Center team
• Follow up on team development plans and progress
• Practice, live and enforce the company culture

• Management and planning skills in multi platforms, multi systems, multi vendors, and technical projects environment
• Good understanding of Data Centers operation, infrastructure, components and building highly available Data Centers environment
• Good experience dealing with external suppliers and vendors
• Good experience working, supporting, and troubleshooting Data Centers environment
• Good knowledge and experience in managing and implementing enterprise Data Centers operations
• Detailed knowledge of Data Centres operations management techniques
• Proven Disaster Recovery experience
