Job Description
Role Purpose:
The role is responsible for protecting the interests of the company though prudent and diligent legal advices, action and documentation on a broad range of legal and regulatory aspects and for representing the company in the court of law, in all legal matters. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.
Key accountabilities:
1. Legal Advisory:
- Advise on day-to-day commercial transactions and business undertakings.
- Advise on commercial/corporate and labor issues.
- Keep local management apprised of significant legal and corporate developments and trends in support of Company’s business.
- Provide changes and developments in the legal and regulatory environment within KSA, advice management and develop appropriate strategies.
- Provide advice and legal support on application and maintenance of all authorizations, permits, licenses, contracts and communication needed for local operations.
- Identify the insurance needs of the business, research the legal risks faced by the business and ensure adequate insurance policies are in place and current at all times.
- Provide legal insight and guidance to the Executive Management team.
- Interpret laws, rulings and regulations impacting the company and advise the business as appropriate.
2. Contracts & Documentation:
- Drafting and negotiating business development and sales-related agreements, licensing, partnership and other commercial agreements.
- Provide support to internal stakeholders to review and negotiate contracts both large and small, in a timely fashion, as needed.
- Continuance reviews of all existing contracts and assesses risk associated to them and advice business accordingly.
3. Legal Research & Investigation:
- Provides legal advices and guidance on all legal matters, including labor law, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and laws pertaining to transactions, contracts and grants, zakat matters, worker's compensation, liability and insurance matters, public monies and purchases, affirmative action, and other laws and regulations.
- Support investigations in collaboration with the relevant department; support Audits where needed and coordinate with other relevant stakeholders and functions in taking practical remediation measures.
- Conduct research and analysis on a variety of legal issues.
Skills
EDUCATION :
- Law Degree by a recognized law school in the KSA /Abroad
EXPERIENCE FIELDS:
- knowledge and experience with Laws & Regulations
- Excellent English and Arabic oral and written communication skills
- An independent self-starter, self-disciplined, taking responsibility and being accountable.
- Robust business sense, with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Confident approach, with rapport building and interpersonal skills;
- Tactful and diplomatic with a discreet manner;
- Networks and communicates effectively; and
- Problem solving / decision making capabilities;
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
- 4 - 6 years of relevant experience
- Financial Services industry experience would be preferable
