Job Description

The Head – Innovation & Digital Solutions is accountable for the leadership and strategic direction and oversight of the Digital Transformation, management and delivery of the digital innovation & Solution design function. Identify, lead and manage innovative approaches to business challenges and work with teams across the Bupa Arabia business functions to deliver customer centric products and services that generate revenue and profit to Bupa Arabia. Lead new thinking and nurture new ideas from concept, through pilot and into mainstream activity.

 

Responsibilities

 

Discovery of Strategic and Emerging Technology & Trends

  • Identifying relevant emerging technologies and strategic business trends that will maximize value for your organization’s strategy
  • Maintain an effective view of technology to evaluate the opportunities and threats posed by a vast array of potentially disruptive technologies
  • Employ a structured method to identify innovation opportunities across emerging technologies; broader societal, business and environmental trends; and digital disruption
  • Conduct technology and environmental scans
  • Identify opportunities to use new technologies in the business
  • Identify opportunities to improve Digital capabilities
  • Introduce a new technology to the business
  • Defines overall partnership strategy
  • Manages and maintains relationships with partners
  • Ensure a steady inflow of high quality initiatives from businesses and functions and leads prioritization and selection process
  • Provide business with new ideas on what could be done with Digital capabilities
  • Viewed externally as being at the forefront of innovation within its field

 

Analysis and Prioritization of Discovered Trends

  • Enabling a business-driven innovation approach that connects ideas to digital transformative business initiatives
  • Evaluating opportunities through prototypes and pilots

  • Defining architecture and standards

Exploration and Adoption of Digital Innovations

  • Adopting the prioritized trends and exploring the value opportunities by applying technologies to create new business opportunities and capabilities.
  • Discover and define the impact of new or improved business capabilities on business outcomes
  • Lead the initiative to operationalize or orchestrate capabilities into new or improved business operations
  • Create visibility into and understanding of how the organization is operating to discover opportunities that deliver sustainable value.
  • Create scenarios and future visions for technology-led business transformation
  • Leverage local innovation activities around Bupa Arabia
  • Leads execution of partnerships roadmaps
  • Manages digital transformation financial outcomes
  • Maintains a strong network of FinTechs/Start-Ups to ensure healthy pipeline for investment, partnerships, and collaboration

 

Scaling Digital Transformations

  • Operationalize new capabilities and transforming the organization
  • Reuse and recombine existing elements of functionality, while ensuring performance traceability and appropriate governance of the digital outcomes
  • Enable technologies to plan, model, coordinate, govern and monitor the operations, processes, and physical/digital resources associated with how Bupa Arabia delivers value via a digital platform in real time
  • Provide coordination orchestration of systems and other resources
  • Incorporate mechanisms for sensing (process mining and performance metrics) and responding (real-time decision making and operational decision models), while potentially supporting dynamic learning and optimization (artificial intelligence and machine learning)

 

Continuous Innovation

  • Monitoring and reiterating the operationalized capabilities into new challenges, creating a continuous innovation cycle.
  • Convert the stream of new ideas that flows daily into corporate engagements.
  • Discover and define a balance point at which the enterprise has the right mix of traditional and digital capabilities and assets to power the business model needed to compete most effectively in an industry that is being digitally revolutionized.
  • Keeps track of key developments in the digital space to continuously identify new ideas and trends with potential to deliver value (i.e. benchmarking exercise, market research)

 

Project Management & Implementation

  • Lead the successful implementation of the various components of a solution through the effective execution of the methodology using solid functional, technical and/or project management knowledge and skills such Scrum, Agile or any relevant project management methodology
  • Monitor & control the progress of International project activities against the agreed plan on a regular basis
  • Ensure deliverables meet customer needs as analysed.
  • Identify and report potential risks and mitigation actions
  • Ensure regular progress reports are disseminated to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure that projects go live within agreed scope, time and budget
  • Lead the development of robust monitoring and feedback systems.
  • Ensure consistent monitoring and feedback from all stakeholders including partners and outsourced development companies
  • Ensure customer acceptance on project deliverables
  • Identify outstanding items (activities and risks) and drive the closure with effective outcomes
  • Lead the seamless hand-over plan to ensure smooth transition to customer environment
  • Monitor, deliver and close supplier agreements
  • Communicate project completion to all stakeholders
  • Conduct post implementation review and evaluation to ensure optimal service delivery
  • Document and archive project plan document in a central repository

 

People Management

  • Manage and constantly review individual performance
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching and development
  • Motivate, empower and enable the team by providing the necessary tools and support required to achieve the organizational development objectives
  • Change agent, manage transformation and adaptation of team to new service delivery modules
  • Provide leadership, professional guidance and directions to the assigned team members
  • Build the capabilities of the team members

 

Skills

Qualifications

 

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in business development for a large-scale digital brand
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; graduate degree preferred
  • Experience in managing business relationships
  • Exceptional communicator who inspires the team and can engage CET level audience on relevant topics in a time efficient manner

 

Skills (Technical/Managerial)

  • Strong IT background with + 10 years of experience
  • Have managed Digital Transformation projects for internal and external customers
  • Vast experience Digital Customer Experience design and delivery
  • Have worked I major Digital Innovations delivery (Apps, ERP, etc)
  • With AI projects design and delivery experience preferred
  • With business analysis and design experience
  • Digital project diversity is a plus
  • With RPA and Data Warehousing experience
  • With Digital Solutions knowledge in difference domains
  • With PMO/Funnel Management experience
  • International exposure to Tech companies (3rd party and vendor management)
  • Experience implementing "Best Practice" approach in digital strategy and transformation with effective in change management
  • Successfully worked in complex international business areas
  • Successfully demonstrated analytical and conceptual knowledge and a highly efficient and structured work method
  • Entrepreneurial with a track record of thinking differently
  • Dynamic, mature and highly collaborative
  • Acquired experience in multinational companies, having preferably already managed the complexity of a “corporate role”, that goes from developing the strategic framework till delivering innovative ideas /digital solutions and execution
  • Strong network in the digital community regionally
