Job Description

The General Practitioner in Digital Clinic plays a crucial role in providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare through telehealth consultations and in-person consultation ensuring accessible and timely management and treatment for patients with a wide range of general medical conditions including acute and chronic conditions and proper referral to specialties and centers of excellence, and appropriate medications management.

Patient Consultations and Management

  • Conduct comprehensive telehealth consultations via thorough patient history and physical examinations with patients experiencing general medical issues.
  • Utilize video conferencing platforms to assess patient symptoms, review medical history, and perform virtual examinations. Develop personalized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide ongoing patient education
  • Oversee ongoing care for chronic and acute conditions
  • Refer to specialties to adjust treatment plans as necessary based on patient feedback and clinical outcomes.
  • Develop and implement personalized general treatment plans, including medication management, referrals to specialists, and lifestyle modifications
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including specialists, and nurses, to ensure seamless patient care
  • Practice population health management by identifying and addressing health issues at the community level, implementing preventive measures, and promoting health education and awareness
  • Document findings and treatment plans meticulously in patient records.
  • Medication refills for chronic conditions.
  • Cover shifts as per duty schedule to ensure 24/7 clinical services provision

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear and concise explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care
  • Adhere to all relevant medical regulations, ethical guidelines, and quality assurance standards for telehealth practice
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of telehealth regulations and best practices. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and document patient encounters accurately
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and clinical audits to enhance patient care and outcomes
  • Regularly review compliance protocols and participate in training sessions.
  • Collaborate with compliance officers to ensure all practices meet regulatory standards.
  • Prepare reports for audits and inspections, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and implement necessary adjustments.

Professional Development

  • Continuously enhance professional knowledge and skills in general medicine and telehealth best practices
  • Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and online courses.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in general medicine and telehealth technology
  • Stay up to date on the latest advancements in gynecology and telehealth technology

Telehealth Platform Proficiency

  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Maintain proficiency in utilizing the designated telehealth platform, including video conferencing, secure messaging, and electronic health records (EHR) integration
  • Actively participate in training programs and stay updated on platform enhancements and best practices. Collaborate with IT support to troubleshoot any technical issues

Patient Safety and Satisfaction

  • Maintain compliance with all patient safety standards and ensure patient safety across all clinical interactions
  • Report any patient safety risks or issues to the appropriate staff in quality department
  • Practice safe medicine to ensure no patient harm
  • Explain medications possible side effects and proper use
  • Maintain satisfactory patients consultations through communication, taking complete history, providing empathy and understanding of patients conditions and circumstances, explanation of diagnosis and proposed management plan and answering patient queries
  • Monitor patient feedback and address concerns promptly.
  • Implement safety protocols to minimize risks during consultations.
  • Utilize patient satisfaction surveys to gather insights for continuous improvement.

Collaboration with Healthcare Teams

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
  • Share insights and recommendations to support patient-centered care approaches.
  • Facilitate communication between team members regarding patient status and needs.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide training on clinical protocols

Skills

  • Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) classification and registration
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Passion for providing high-quality virtual care.
  • Strong understanding of telehealth principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in utilizing video conferencing platforms and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients remotely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from an accredited medical school.
  • Classified as General Practitioner and carry a valid SCFHS license.
  • experience in clinical practice (especially ER in Saudi Arabia)
