Sr. Manager - Asset Management & Treasury Operations

Role Purpose

Lead the department’s activities in assessing new investment opportunities and monitoring existing portfolio holdings and communicating developments with senior management.

Accountabilities

Opportunity Sourcing

• Continuous dialog with banks, investment managers & brokers on new investment opportunities
• Assist the Head in sourcing new investment opportunities applicable to the portfolio’s mandate
• Deliverable: New Investment Opportunities

Market &Portfolio Research

• Develop analytical tools/metrics to analyze key market/economic data & interpret impact on investment portfolio
• Lead ad-hoc analysis/research on portfolio holdings and market data
• Assist the Head in active portfolio decisions based on market development
• Continuously updating Head & Director on portfolio holdings valuation & market developments affecting investment portfolio
• Ensure timely submission of bi-weekly portfolio commentary and all necessary documentations are maintained
• Deliverable: Understand key market data and submit bi-weekly portfolio while maintaining documentation

Investment Due Diligence

• Lead investment due diligence efforts in analyzing risk/returns profiles, peer analysis, & qualitative assessment.
• Conduct necessary valuation, financial modelling & scenario stress testing calculations and ensure accuracy of output.
• Conduct necessary calls/meetings with counterparties
• Assist in the legal communication and negotiation of terms while liaising with Legal Department for execution
• Present investment recommendation to senior management and investment committee
• Deliverables: Ensures comprehensive and timely submission of investment recommendation with all due diligence points covered; Ensure all documentation of the process is maintained

Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor assigned portfolio holdings valuations and key developments and ensure document updates
• Attend quarterly performance calls/webcast updates
• Ensure periodic communication with fund managers & brokers and keep track of updates on performance, organization & terms
• Prepare quarterly/ semi-annual performance updates on key portfolio holdings
• Prepare monthly investment report and Investment Committee materials
• Deliverable: Ensures all regulatory and internal reporting are maintained

Transaction Execution

• Communication with external/internal counterparties to execute trades
• Ensure execution documents and transaction entries are accurately prepared by the team
• Deliverable: Document execution

 Strategic / Operating Planning

• Annual/ ad-hoc review of investment policy statement and liaise with advisor(s)
• Annual update of operating plan file and ensure accuracy of information
• Ensure assumptions of operating plan are vetted and have been stressed under various scenarios
• Oversee the process of projecting annual investment income
• Deliverable: Contribute towards the production of annual/ad-hoc assessments of portfolio asset allocation

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Asset Management, Investment Banking, or Wealth Management, particularly in the area of Alternative Investments and Fixed Income
• Robust knowledge of capital markets dynamics
  
• Knowledge of insurance regulations is a plus
• Robust understanding of financial statements analysis
• Strong valuation and financial modelling skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar disciplines, Masters degree is a plus
• A holder of, or working towards CFA designation is a plus
• Ability to manage multiple work streams and work under pressure
• Strong communication skills
• Fluency in English (verbal and written)
