The Radiology Consultant is responsible for delivering specialized diagnostic imaging services, including the preparation of comprehensive radiology reports and the leadership of all departmental personnel and operational activities. The role ensures that adequate scheduling coverage is maintained across all working hours, imaging modalities, and clinical staff
Assessment and Diagnosis
- Produce and finalize imaging reports for MRI, CT, ultrasound, and X-ray examinations within agreed turnaround timelines.
- Conduct regular peer review sessions to uphold reporting standards.
- Oversee and monitor teleradiology service delivery.
- Contribute to the development and periodic review of imaging protocols and diagnostic pathways.
- Ensure all imaging studies are performed in accordance with established clinical protocols
Departmental Management
• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Radiology Department at the Integrated Care Centre (ICC).
• Direct and supervise all departmental personnel, including radiologists, specialists, and radiographers.
• Develop and implement clinical guidelines, protocols, and standard operating procedures for all imaging modalities.
• Lead the commissioning phase to obtain Ministry of Health licensure and relevant accreditations.
• Design and manage staff scheduling to ensure seamless operational coverage across all modalities.
• Work planning and manpower distribution
- Conduct formal performance appraisals for all radiology department staff.
Clinical Quality and Safe Practice
· Ensure the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality clinical care in line with best practice standards.
· Adhere to and enforce clinical protocols, guidelines, and evidence-based practices in radiology.
· Actively participate in quality assurance programs and clinical audit activities.
· Report, investigate, and manage clinical incidents and adverse events in a timely and transparent manner.
· Oversee the implementation of CBAHI and JCI accreditation standards within the Radiology Department.
· Contribute to the development and maintenance of the departmental risk register
Collaboration with Healthcare Providers
· Deliver training and continuing education to radiology staff on current techniques, technologies, and clinical guidelines.
· Foster and sustain effective collaboration across multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
· Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support integrated patient care planning.
· Maintain clear and professional communication with referring physicians and other clinical stakeholders regarding patient management
Patient Safety and Satisfaction
- Champion a culture of patient safety and proactively enhance patient experience throughout the care continuum.
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve patient safety protocols and initiatives.
- Systematically gather and analyze patient feedback through structured surveys and direct engagement.
- Address patient concerns promptly and ensure transparent communication regarding radiology procedures and outcomes
Professional Development and Compliance
- Engage in continuous professional development and maintain full compliance with applicable regulatory and licensing requirements.
- Participate regularly in Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs and relevant professional training.
- Remain current with evolving clinical guidelines, technological advancements, and evidence-based practices in radiology.
- Mentor junior clinical staff and actively contribute to their professional growth and development.
- Any other tasks assigned by Medical Director or Executive Director Medical
المهارات
• Board certification (Saudi Board or internationally recognized equivalent) in Radiology.
• Active classification and registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) at consultant level.
• Demonstrated clinical judgment and sound decision-making capabilities in complex diagnostic scenarios.
• Proven track record in diagnosing and managing a broad spectrum of radiological conditions.
• In-depth understanding of telehealth principles and best practices in remote diagnostic services.
• Proficiency in video conferencing platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective professional relationships both in-person and remotely.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to evidence-based practice.
