Providing comprehensive medical care to adult patients in telemedicine settings, spanning the full breadth of general internal medicine together with the subspecialty of haematology. Delivers evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and management of common and complex acute and chronic conditions across multiple organ systems: including cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine and metabolic, gastrointestinal, renal, infectious, and rheumatological disorders, as well as the full spectrum of benign and malignant blood disorders, including anemias, bleeding and clotting (coagulation) disorders, hemoglobinopathies, thrombocytopenia, and hematologic malignancies. Plays a critical role in managing undifferentiated and multimorbid presentations, ordering and interpreting general and specialized investigations, coordinating referrals, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Additionally, practices population health management and value-based care, focusing on improving patient outcomes through efficient and effective healthcare delivery, with an emphasis on optimizing resources and enhancing the patient experience.
Patient Consultations and Management
• Conduct comprehensive telehealth consultations, including thorough history taking and review of systems, for adult patients presenting with general medical and haematological complaints.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage a broad range of acute and chronic internal medicine conditions across organ systems: including hypertension, diabetes and other endocrine and metabolic disorders, asthma and COPD, ischemic heart disease and heart failure, gastrointestinal, hepatic and renal disorders, common infections, and rheumatological conditions — including undifferentiated and multimorbid presentations.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage the full range of benign and malignant blood disorders, including anaemias, iron and other hematinic deficiencies, hemoglobinopathies, bleeding and coagulation disorders, thrombocytopenia, thrombophilia, and hematologic malignancies (leukaemia’s, lymphomas, myeloma, myeloproliferative and myelodysplastic conditions).
• Order and interpret general and specialized investigations, including complete blood counts, peripheral blood films, coagulation profiles, haemolysis screens, haemoglobin electrophoresis, bone marrow examination reports, metabolic and biochemical panels, and relevant point-of-care and imaging results.
• Develop and implement personalized, evidence-based treatment plans, including medication management, chronic disease control, anticoagulation therapy, transfusion planning, referrals to relevant specialties (e.g., cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, oncology, or bone marrow transplant services), and lifestyle modifications.
• Initiate, adjust, and monitor pharmacological and haematological therapies, and oversee ongoing care for chronic and acute conditions based on clinical outcomes and patient feedback.
• Collaborate with primary care physicians, medical subspecialists, oncologists, transfusion medicine, laboratory specialists, and nurses to ensure seamless, coordinated patient care.
• Practice population health management by identifying and addressing medical and haematological health issues at the community level, implementing preventive measures, and promoting health education and awareness.
Document findings and treatment plans meticulously in patient records.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
· Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear and concise explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care.
· Adhere to all relevant medical regulations, ethical guidelines, and quality assurance standards for both in-person and telehealth practice.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal medicine and haematology clinical guidelines and of telehealth regulations and best practices.
· Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and clinical audits to enhance patient care and outcomes.
· Regularly review compliance protocols, participate in training sessions, and collaborate with compliance officers to ensure all practices meet regulatory standards.
Prepare reports for audits and inspections, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and implement necessary adjustments as regulations change
Professional Development
· Continuously enhance professional knowledge and skills in internal medicine, haematology, and telehealth best practices.
· Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and online courses.
· Stay abreast of advancements in internal medicine, haematology, and telehealth technology.
Stay up to date on the latest advancements in diagnostics, therapeutics, and telehealth delivery.
Telehealth Platform Proficiency
· Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with applicable data-protection and privacy regulations.
· Maintain proficiency in utilizing the designated telehealth platform, including video conferencing, secure messaging, and electronic health record (EHR) integration.
· Actively participate in training programs and stay updated on platform enhancements and best practices.
Collaborate with IT support to troubleshoot any technical issues
Patient Safety and Satisfaction
• Maintain compliance with all patient safety standards and ensure patient safety across all clinical interactions.
• Report any patient safety risks or issues to the appropriate staff in the quality department.
• Practice safe medicine to ensure no patient harm, with particular attention to medication safety, anticoagulation safety, transfusion safety, and chemotherapy-related risks.
• Explain medications, including indications, side effects, and proper use.
• Maintain satisfactory patient consultations through effective communication, complete history taking, empathy and understanding of patients' conditions and circumstances, clear explanation of diagnosis and management plan, and answering patient queries.
• Monitor patient feedback, address concerns promptly, and implement safety protocols to minimize risks during consultations.
Conduct regular training sessions on patient safety for healthcare staff and utilize patient satisfaction surveys to gather insights for continuous improvement.
Collaboration with Healthcare Teams
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams: including internal medicine subspecialties, oncology, transfusion medicine, laboratory, and primary care, to optimize patient care.
• Share insights and recommendations to support patient-centred care approaches.
• Facilitate communication between team members regarding patient status and needs.
Mentor junior staff and provide training on clinical protocols.

· Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) from an accredited medical school.
· Residency training in Internal Medicine from an accredited program.
· Board certification in Internal Medicine
· Fellowship certification in Hematology.
· Saudi Commission for Health Specialties SCFHS classification and registration as Internal Medicine & Hematology Senior Registrar (Assistant Consultant)
· Proven experience as a Internal Medicine & Hematology Senior Registrar or similar role, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
· Experience in practicing population health management and value-based care approaches
· Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and telemedicine platforms.
· Strong clinical judgment and analytical skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish effective relationships with patients and colleagues.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
· Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest advancements in family medicine with a focus on diabetology, population health management, and value-based care.
